K Jayakumar bags Kendra Sahitya Akademi award for Pingala Keshini

NEW DELHI: Former chief secretary of Kerala K Jayakumar has been chosen for the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award of 2024. He got the award for his collection of poems 'Pingala Keshini'. K Jayakumar known as a translator of several songs and poems, an artist and a scriptwriter, is a retired civil service officer. His is presently the director of Kerala Government’s Institute of Management.


The awards announced were for 21 out of a total of 24 languages. The awards have now been announced for eight poetry collections, three novels, two short story collections, three essays, three books of literary criticism and one play.
