ABU DHABI: Luck again reached an Indian in the UAE Big Ticket draw. This time, Chaitanya Kumari Ramachandran, a native of Tamil Nadu and living in Dubai, is the lucky winner. Chaitanya has been working as a computer engineer in the UAE for 14 years. Chaitanya will take home one million dirhams (approximately Rs. two crore) through the Big Ticket.
This is the sixth time Chaitanya has bought the big ticket. She had previously bought it with her colleagues, but luck didn't come her way. This time, Chaitanya bought the ticket alone. Chaitanya said that she will save the prize money for her daughter's law studies. Her daughter is currently in class 11. Chaitanya wants to send her daughter to the UK or Australia for higher studies. Chaitanya said she faced many challenges as a single mother and therefore will not spend the prize money on luxuries.
Chaitanya is currently in her hometown. The Big Ticket officials called her to reveal the prize, but she thought it was a spam call and ignored it. Later, her friend in Dubai called and informed her about it. She confirmed it by checking the Big Ticket website and email. Chaitanya said her parents ignored the news as a joke when she told them. Chaitanya said that she had to pay off the bank loan for the car she bought in her hometown.
