Finn Allen’s century powers KKR to dominant win over DC

NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders recorded their third straight win in the IPL season with a convincing eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals. Chasing a target of 143 runs, KKR reached 146 for 2 in just 14.2 overs. New Zealand batter Finn Allen played a stunning unbeaten century, scoring 100 runs off 47 balls to guide his team to an easy win. With this victory, KKR moved up to seventh place in the points table with nine points.

KKR lost captain Ajinkya Rahane (13 off 9 balls) and young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi (1 off 3 balls). Allen smashed 10 sixes and five fours in his unbeaten knock. Australian all-rounder Cameron Green also supported well with 33 not out off 27 balls. For Delhi, captain Axar Patel took one wicket. With the defeat, Delhi Capitals slipped to eighth place in the standings.

Earlier, batting first, Delhi Capitals were restricted to 142 for 8 in 20 overs. Despite a good start from the openers, their middle order failed to perform. A fighting knock from Ashutosh Sharma, who came in at number seven, helped them reach a respectable total.

Pathum Nissanka (50 off 29 balls) and KL Rahul (23 off 14 balls) gave Delhi a strong opening partnership of 49 runs. The team was in a strong position at 74 for 1 in eight overs before losing momentum.

Nitish Rana (8), Sameer Rizvi (3), and Tristan Stubbs (2) fell quickly. Captain Axar Patel scored 11 off 22 balls, while Ashutosh Sharma made 39 off 28 balls to push the score past 100. Vipraj Nigam remained not out on 3 runs, while Mitchell Starc (0) and Lungi Ngidi (1 not out) finished the innings. For KKR, Anukul Roy and Kartik Tyagi took two wickets each, while Vaibhav Arora, Sunil Narine, and Cameron Green picked up one wicket each.
