‘Should people sacrifice for govt's failures?’; Rahul Gandhi criticizes Modi's directions
NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha opposition leader and Rahul Gandhi MP has sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving directions to the citizens to overcome the economic crisis that arose following the war situation in Western Asia. Rahul Gandhi criticized that the directions forwarded by the Prime Minister are proof of government’s failure.
He clarified that Narendra Modi and the central government are trembling in the face of economic pressure and asking the people to make sacrifices to fix the government's shortcomings is not the right course of action. Rahul Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of trying to evade the government's responsibilities.
The Prime Minister says, ‘don't buy gold, don't go abroad, reduce petrol consumption, use the metro, and work from home. He has brought the country to this situation in 12 years. People have to be told what to buy, what not to buy, where to go, where not to go. Every time, imposing restrictions on people to escape their responsibilities,’ Rahul wrote on social media.
Meantime, Congress leader K C Venugopal also criticized the Prime Minister. He accused Modi of not having any idea about ensuring India's energy security even after weeks of war. In his speech on Sunday, Modi had requested all those who can to switch to work from home to save fuel, as was the case during the Covid era. He also asked people to use the metro and other public transport systems to reduce the use of petrol and diesel.
