NILAMBUR: In a heart-wrenching incident, a seven-year-old boy lost his life on his birthday after a laterite stone pillar collapsed on him at a relative’s residence in Ramankuthu.
The deceased, identified as Sifran, son of Moideen, had celebrated his birthday with friends just hours before the accident. According to local reports, the tragedy occurred while Sifran was playing with his peers on the upper terrace of a nearby relative’s house. A laterite stone pillar, which served as a support for a clothesline, gave way and fell directly onto him.
Though family members rushed to the scene upon hearing the children’s screams and hurried the boy to the Nilambur District Hospital, medical professionals pronounced him dead on arrival.
Sifran was a student at the Yahmania School in Ancham Mile. He is survived by his mother, Shaiha, and three siblings: Rashin, Raha Fatima, and Sayan.
