Young pedestrian dies after speeding car crashes into footpath in Kowdiar; several injured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A young pedestrian died tragically in an accident in Kowdiar after a speeding car crashed into the pavement. Naushika (24), a native of Palakkad, who was walking on the pavement, died in the accident, while her husband Ashiq suffered serious injuries. Ashiq is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Naushika, who was in a critical condition, was immediately taken to SUT Hospital, but her life could not be saved.

The incident took place around 10.30 am today. The speeding car hit Naushika and her husband and then rammed into other vehicles. Four cars and two bikes were damaged. Several people were injured. Meanwhile, the driver responsible for the accident said he was clueless about what led to the vehicle losing control. He is currently in police custody.
