THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF Government has given an appointment to Yadhu, a temporary driver of KSRTC, who was terminated following a dispute with former mayor Arya Rajendran. He has been appointed as a temporary driver of the assembly on daily wages.

A dispute over not giving way to the vehicle carrying former Mayor Arya Rajendran and her family had led to a major controversy. Yadhu and Arya had a heated argument in the middle of the road at Palayam over not giving way to her vehicle. Arya had complained that he drove the bus dangerously, hit her car, and showed obscene gestures.

The police had registered a case against Yadhu on the complaint of Arya Rajendran. Although Yadhu had filed a complaint, the police were initially unwilling to file a case. Later, when Yadhu approached the court, a case was registered against Arya Rajendran and her husband and former Balussery MLA Sachin Dev. Yadhu then came forward demanding that he be reinstated in service. He had also written a letter to the then transport minister K B Ganesh Kumar.

Ganesh Kumar said the reason for Yadhu's dismissal was not the issue with Arya, but for talking on the phone while driving the vehicle. Although Yadhu later came forward claiming that the former minister's claim was false, citing RTI documents obtained from KSRTC, there was no positive action from the LDF government.
