
CHENNAI: Actor Vijay scripted history in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections after being sworn in as the state’s ninth Chief Minister today. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which won 108 seats, received support from Congress, VCK, CPI, CPM and Muslim League parties to cross the majority mark and form the government. Vijay was sworn in as the Chief Minister at the Nehru Indoor Stadium at 10:30 am today.
Now that Vijay has assumed the highest office in the state, fans are releasing various videos as tributes. All of these have gone viral within minutes. One such video making headlines is Vijay's mother's reaction. Shoba Chandrasekhar spoke to the media before the oath-taking ceremony.
"I am very happy. Today is Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I am already late for the oath-taking ceremony. So see you later," Shobha told the media. The joy of her son becoming the Chief Minister of the state was visible on her face. Many have commented on this video, saying that it is the greatest gift her son gave her on Mother's Day.
When the election results were announced on the 4th of this month, TVK shocked everyone with a historic victory. Vijay contested from two constituencies and won both.
