23-year-old accused in rape and murder of plus one student shot dead 

KOLKATA: The police have shot dead a 23-year-old youth, accused of raping and murdering a plus one student at the Bongaon region of West Bengal. The dead is Prahlad Das.

The youth was shot dead when he was taken to the crime spot in Gaighata to collect evidence. He snatched the revolver from a police officer and opened fire at them during reconstruction of the crime. The officers then shot him, leaving him seriously injured.

Das was immediately taken to a hospital, but the doctors could not save his life.
