NEW DELHI: Delhi Police detained leaders of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) after boarding their flight as they arrived to participate in the 'Jantar Mantar 2.0' protest. Those detained include CJP founder and convener Abhijeet Dipke, along with party spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka.

A video of Dipke speaking just before his detention surfaced on CJP's social media page. In the video, Abhijeet remarks, "This is even worse than Indira Gandhi’s emergency. If you want to impose UAPA, do that, but the fight will continue. This is dictatorship. " Dipke added that he was ready to face arrest.

CJP strongly condemned the detention of their leaders. Arvind Kejriwal, the founding leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)—who had declared solidarity with the CJP protest—was taken into custody. He was detained at his home. AAP leader Manish Sisodia was also taken into custody.

Meanwhile, prominent YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has been taken into police custody. He was detained from his home in Gurugram around 7:30 this morning. CJP confirmed the news of the detention with the remark, "That dictator fears young people who question his wrongdoings and refuse to remain silent."
