KOCHI: Veena Vijayan, daughter of opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the monthly payoff case. She arrived at the ED office in Kochi Thursday morning at 9.30. The ED had issued a notice asking her to appear on June 29.
The report prepared by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) investigating the financial transactions between Cochin Minerals Rutile Limited (CMRL) Company and Veena Vijayan's Exalogic Solutions was officially handed over to the ED yesterday. Reports say that in this situation, Veena was summoned by the ED officials earlier.
The report includes 134 documents in 15,000 pages in 54 volumes. According to the SFIO documents, it is indicated that questions will be asked to Veena Vijayan on important information. It is learned that the ED did not get accurate answers to crucial questions during the interrogation earlier.
The documents in the charge sheet filed by the SFIO in the Special PMLA Court in Kochi were obtained on ED's request. This includes the statement given by Veena to the SFIO, information obtained during questioning of CMRL officials, correspondence and agreements between Exalogy and CMRL, etc. These are the documents that the court had directed to be provided on June 17. The delay was due to the need to provide certified copies.
