
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department banned fishing on the Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts today due to heavy rains in the state. Meanwhile, there is no obstacle to fishing on the Karnataka coast. Fishermen have been warned that strong winds and bad weather are likely to occur on the Kerala coast today and tomorrow, with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph and at times up to 60 kmph.
A yellow alert was issued in various districts till May 13 due to the increasing rains. Today, the alert is for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode districts.
