
MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced India’s squad for the upcoming T20 series. The board has completely removed Suryakumar Yadav and announced Shreyas Iyer as the new T20 captain. The selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar announced the new team. Malayali cricketer Sanju Samson has also been included in the 16-member team.
Shreyas Iyer will lead the Indian team for the T20 series against Ireland and England and the Asian Games to be held in September and October. 15-year-old wonderkid Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has become a sensation in the IPL, has been included in all three squads.
Tilak Varma is the vice-captain of all three teams. The BCCI has presently announced a total of four different squads. Agarkar said Vaibhav has been included in the team considering his IPL record.
