Two dead in shooting in Canada’s Toronto, search intensifies for accused

OTTAWA: A shooting occurred during salsa festival in Canada’s Toronto. Two people were killed and several others were injured in the incident.

The incident occurred at around 8:12 pm local time yesterday. The shooting took place near St Clair Avenue West and Arlington Avenue. The present situation is under control and people have been evacuated from the area.

Police said the attacker has not yet been found and that a search has been intensified. Police have strictly advised people to avoid the area for safety reasons.

Shooting incidents have been increasing in Canada in recent times. Two people, including a police officer, were killed in a shooting in Montreal last month. In February, eight people were killed in a school shooting in Tumbler Ridge.
