Newlywed bride collapses to death under mysterious circumstances; family alleges foul play

A family filed a complaint after a 28-year-old newlywed woman collapsed and died under mysterious circumstances in the presence of her husband. Muskan Simoliya, a native of Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, died in the incident. Muskan’s family raised the complaint against her husband, Nilesh, a bank manager. The incident took place at a hotel in Sipri, Jhansi, in Uttar Pradesh. Following the release of CCTV footage from the hotel, the family raised suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death.

Muskan and Nilesh married on June 29th. On October 10th, Muskan returned to her parental home to prepare for the Railway Junior Engineer examination. On the 23rd, Nilesh arrived at her home and told her they both needed to visit his aunt in Uttar Pradesh. However, the woman's father, Ramji Lal, alleged that the couple went to a hotel instead.

पिता का आरोप है कि पति नीलेश उसे मौसी के घर ले जाने की बात कहकर लाया था, लेकिन होटल लेकर पहुंच गया। परिजनों ने हत्या की आशंका जताते हुए कार्रवाई की मांग की है।

They booked a room at the hotel on Friday night. The following morning, Nilesh took Muskan to a hospital, claiming she was unwell. Doctors, however, stated that Muskan was already dead by the time she was brought to the hospital.

CCTV footage shows Muskan walking behind a hotel employee and Nilesh. The employee enters the room first, followed by Nilesh. Upon reaching the doorway, Muskan pauses for a moment before falling backwards. The footage then showed Nilesh dragging Muskan inside.

The family cried foul and alleged it to be a case of murder. Ramji Lal said that Nilesh concealed his previous marriage to an Indore-based woman from Muskan. The topic led to worsening quarrels between the couple in recent times. The father also mentioned that there were signs of injury on Muskan’s head. Nilesh is now in police custody. The actual cause of death will only be determined once the post-mortem report is released.
