Woman along with minor son and lover kill husband in Salem 

SALEM: The death of a 45-year-old brick trader, who was found dead inside a car parked by the roadside, has been confirmed as a murder. His wife, who allegedly committed the crime with her lover, has been arrested. The incident happened at Omalur in Salem. The dead has been identified as V Boopathi of Omalur. His wife, Sujithasri (31), was arrested by the police. His body was found inside a car two days ago in front of the Aattukkaranur Cooperative Society on Omalur–Sankari Road.

Sujithasri initially told police that while she and her husband were on their way to a temple, robbers intercepted their car and killed Boopathi. She claimed that three unidentified men were responsible for the murder and that they had threatened her with a knife and robbed her of 12 sovereigns of gold jewellery. However, Boopathi's relatives expressed doubts on her statement.

The Omalur police then searched the couple's house and found bloodstains. This led to the murder coming to light. The police also found that Sujithasri was in a relationship with her neighbour Santhosh Raj. Boopathi and Sujithasri frequently quarrelled over the issue. A verbal dispute broke out on Monday and in a fit of rage, she pushed Boopathi, causing him to sustain a head injury. The police suspect that Sujithasri and her lover Santhosh then killed the injured Boopathi together. They allegedly placed his body inside the car and drove it to Aattukkaranur. The police have also found that Sujithasri also got the assistance of her 13-year-old son in the murder, in addition to Santhosh Raj. The police have arrested Sujithasri and Santhosh Raj in the case.
