Youth beaten to death by wife and her brothers after minor dispute turns deadly 

NEW DELHI: A youth was beaten to death after a minor dispute turned deadly. The dispute was over applying medicines to their child’s blisters. The dead is Vinay Gupta (31), a software engineer in Delhi. His wife identified as Rekha Gupta (30) and her brothers Raju Jindal (35), Ved Prakash Jindal (33) and Raju’s wife Poonam have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The incident happened in Delhi’s Nihar Vihar. Vinay Gupta and Rekha got married three and a half years ago and has four-month-old twins, a boy and a girl. The two had an argument over applying medicine to one of the children the other day, which led to the murder, Vinay's sister Kirti said.

Rekha, who left home after the argument, returned with her brothers and other family members. Kirti said that a group of six who came to the house brutally beat Vinay and her parents. She added that Rekha watched without stopping while her husband was brutally beaten by her own family.

Vinay, who was seriously injured in the attack was immediately taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. The police have received CCTV footage of the accused entering the car and taking the seriously injured Vinay out of the house. The police said the accused have been arrested and a detailed investigation has been launched.
