MUMBAI: More details have emerged about the deaths of three members of a family who reportedly fell into a gorge following a dispute over the monthly instalments for an iPhone. The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Kunal, his father Murlidhar Chandgude, and mother Sangita from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra. A video posted by Sangita on YouTube a day before the incident has raised fresh questions about the case.
Sangita was a YouTuber with more than 30,000 followers. She mainly posted mini vlogs, in which Kunal also appeared in several videos. However, her husband was not seen in any of the videos. The videos also show that Sangita herself used an iPhone.
A video reportedly recorded shortly before the deaths has raised further questions about the incident. In the one-minute Marathi-language video, Sangita talks about relationships and says that there is no point in doing anything for a person who does not value love. The video is now widely circulating on social media.
Reports suggest that Sangita had been living separately from her husband. Her elder son reportedly died of an illness six years ago. She is said to have become estranged from her husband after his death. It has also been reported that Kunal had threatened to commit suicide last year and had gone to Khavdya Dongar hill in the Tisgaon area. Police reportedly reached the spot, brought him back and provided counselling.
