12-year-old girl dies after bus hits scooter

Fiya Fathima, scooter that met with the accident

KALPETTA: A 12-year-old girl died in an accident that happened at Lakkidi in Wayanad. The accident happened Monday morning at 9.45 am near the petrol pump in Lakkidi. The dead is Fiya Fathima, daughter of Asif of Pathiripala.

Fiya was travelling on the scooter with her parents and siblings. Meanwhile, a private bus from Palakkad heading towards Ottapalam rammed into the back of the scooter they were traveling on. Fiya died on the spot itself. Asif, Fiya's mother Sumayya, and two other children sustained injuries in the accident. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Kanniyampuram.
