Dry day declared in the state tomorrow; Beverages Corporation outlets and bars to remain closed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the World Anti-Drug Day, a dry day has been declared in the state tomorrow (June 26). Beverages Corporation outlets and bars will not function.

World Anti-Drug Day is observed to spread the message against the use and illegal trafficking of drugs and alcohol. The United Nations General Assembly, which met in December 1987, decided to observe June 26 as World Anti-Drug Day. Anti-drug awareness programs will be organised in Kerala under the leadership of the Excise Department and the Social Justice Department.

Awareness programs will also be held under the leadership of educational institutions and related organisations.
