PATHANAMTHITTA: It was confirmed that ghee fell on the gold-plated roof of the shrine in the sanctum sanctorum in Sabarimala. The places with colour changes were washed and cleaned. The roof was washed with the permission of the Special Commissioner. It was found that pilgrims from other neighbouring states threw ghee on the roof while they neared the sanctum sanctorum.

The colour difference was discovered on the top of the gold-plated shrine in Sabarimala yesterday. As soon as the colour difference was noticed on the gold roof, prominent officials, including the Thiruvabharanam Commissioner, reached the spot and conducted a detailed inspection. After these inspections, it was confirmed that the cause of the colour difference was ghee. The roof was then washed and cleaned today.
