Senior journalist N R S Babu passes away

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior journalist N R S Babu passed away on Friday. He was 85. He had served as Kerala Kaumudi deputy editor and editor of Kalakaumudi magazine. He was former director of Thiruvananthapuram Press Club’s Institute of Journalism. He died at his home in Pattom Vrindavan Gardens.

He had served as the consultant editor of Deshabhimani. He was the founder and chairman of Invis Multimedia, one of the first software multimedia companies in Kerala. He has received the Bodhi Cultural and Charitable Trust Award, the first award of S Jayachandran Nair Memorial, Sivaram Award, state government’s award, and the I V Devadas Award. He played a major role in exposing the Kerala Water Authority and the Secretariat File scams.
