THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Administrative Tribunal has stayed the order transferring Dr K J Reena from the post of director, health department. The action was taken on the complaint filed by Dr Reena against the government pointing denial of justice. Health Minister K Muraleedharan had earlier responded that action was taken against Dr Reena for working against the system.

The health department alleged that Dr Reena acted without consulting the government. She was appointed director during the tenure of the LDF government. The transfer of the director had sparked a major controversy. She was later appointed as the director of the Ernakulam Public Health Laboratory. Dr V Meenakshi, who was additional (family welfare) director, was given the charge of the director of health services.
