NEW DELHI: Union Minister Suresh Gopi made a veiled criticism of NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair. Suresh Gopi said that Perunna (NSS headquarters) will undergo a purification ritual soon and asked those with ulterior motives not to try any daring move. The union minister was speaking to the media after the inauguration of the Mannam Smriti Mandapam in Delhi.

“The institution set up by Mannam in Perunna is a venerable one. Time will bring changes to the institution to work according to the needs of the community. Big changes were evident after the elections. An alternative is the need of the hour. The one in Delhi is a great start,” said Suresh Gopi.

Meanwhile, the Vice President also harshly criticised Sukumaran Nair for not allowing him to offer floral tributes at Mannam's samadhi. Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, in an implicit attack, asked Nair to give up the condescending attitude for good.
