'Wasted our four hours'; CJP calls meeting with JP Nadda 'useless'

NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has described its meeting with Union Minister JP Nadda during the Parliament march as "useless", claiming that four hours were wasted without any outcome. CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka made the remarks in a post on X while responding to Nadda's post about the meeting.

'Your government got desperate when they realised the strength of this movement. Then ended up wasting our 4 hours for this useless meeting. Nadda ji, please do not lie,' Ranka wrote.

Earlier, Nadda had said on X that the protesters had, for the first time, agreed to hold talks with the government. He said they had submitted a written memorandum and were ready to call off the protest. The Union Minister also shared a photograph from the meeting.

The CJP has been protesting over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and is demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Ranka said the party had held talks with the government but had not received any response so far.

Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the protest would continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. He added that the party would soon issue an official statement announcing its next course of action.

The Parliament march organised by the CJP on Monday demanding Pradhan's resignation turned violent near Jantar Mantar. The area within a five-kilometre radius witnessed intense clashes between protesters and police. More than 100 students and 118 police personnel were injured in the violence, while hundreds of protesters were detained. The clashes broke out around 11 am after Abhijeet Dipke ended his hunger strike and began marching towards Parliament with supporters.
