Court finds Chenthamara guilty in Nenmara double murder case, hang me to death, says accused

PALAKKAD: The Palakkad Additional Sessions Court has found Chenthamara guilty in the Nenmara double murder case. The court has found Chenthamara guilty under sections 103(I) and 126(II) of the IPC. The accused, who appeared in the court very calmly, behaved without any sense of guilt. Chenthamara told the court that he has nothing to say and that they could hang him to death.

Chenthamara is the sole accused in the case of killing Sudhakaran and his mother Lakshmi of Pothundi. The prosecution and Sudhakaran's children are hoping death penalty for the accused. Sudhakaran's children Akhila and Athulya and other relatives had reached the court. The quantum of sentence will be pronounced on Wednesday (July 15).


Chenthamara hacked to death Sudhakaran and his mother Lakshmi of Boyan Colony in Pothundi, on January 27, 2025. Chenthamara had also killed Sudhakaran's wife Sajitha on August 31, 2019. The court had sentenced Chenthamara to double life imprisonment and a fine in this case. He killed Sudhakaran and Lakshmi while he was on parole during the trial of the case in which he killed Sajitha. He hacked Chenthamara's wife to death saying that Sajitha was the reason for his wife to estrange from him.
