Pregnant wife commits suicide; husband found hanging in Bengaluru while returning home from abroad

ALAPPUZHA: A 30-year-old youth was found hanging in a lodge in Bengaluru while returning home from Doha after hearing the demise of his pregnant wife. He has been identified as P S Sanukuttan of Edathua Kodupunna Puthen Veettil. Two days ago, Sanukuttan's wife, Hareeshma (27) of Mavelikkara, was found hanging at her home.

Though Sanukuttan left from Doha, he did not reach his hometown. He had informed to land in Bengaluru and then take a connecting flight to Nedumbassery. However, when Sanukuttan did not arrive, his relatives tried to contact him by phone. When he could not be reached, they contacted the Bengaluru airport authorities. His relatives were informed that he had landed in Bengaluru.

The relatives then reached Bengaluru and informed the Malayali Association and the police. Meanwhile, news came that a Malayali has been found dead in a lodge. With this, the relatives reached there and identified the dead as Sanukuttan. Hareeshma and Sanukuttan had married four months ago. Hareeshma was three months pregnant. Sanukuttan had gone abroad a month ago. Hareeshma has been laid to rest in Mavelikkara.
