THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gold prices in Kerala fell slightly on Tuesday. The price of gold fell by Rs 10 per gram to Rs 13,090, while the price of a sovereign declined by Rs 80 to Rs 1,04,720. The decline comes amid renewed tensions in West Asia. After rising steadily from July 9, gold prices started falling yesterday. The price of gold had dropped by Rs 130 per gram to Rs 13,100 on Monday.
A sovereign of gold was priced at Rs 1,03,240 at the beginning of the month. It later climbed to Rs 1,07,800 before declining over the past two days. The latest fall offers some relief to people planning to buy jewellery.
Silver prices also declined on Tuesday. The price fell by Rs 5 per gram to Rs 235. Silver is now priced at Rs 2,350 for 10 grams, Rs 23,500 for 100 grams and Rs 2,35,000 per kilogram.
