PALAKKAD: The family of Gopika, killed in the Mini Cooper accident, said her blood samples were collected after the post-mortem. This was revealed by her father M R Pradeep Kumar in the press meet convened here today. He said after the post-mortem was completed and the body was stitched up, the stitches were removed to take blood samples, and he does not know the reason for it. He also said that when asked about it, the circle inspector said that it was done as per the order of the higher ups.
‘Her post-mortem was conducted at the Angamaly Taluk Hospital and that of the others at Kalamassery. The body was released an hour later than the scheduled time. We were there. When asked why the blood samples were being taken, the circle inspector said it was for your own good. He said that it was to compare the blood samples obtained from the car with her blood samples. If proved, it would be easy to prove that this is the vehicle that hit her. But, now we have a suspicion, who called from above,’ he said.
Meantime, the remand report has surfaced. The report says that Suhail drove the vehicle knowing that it could endanger human life. Suhail is the first accused in the case, which has a total of four accused. The report says the second, third and fourth accused not only failed to stop Suhail from driving under the influence of alcohol but also encouraged him to drive at a higher speed.
