NEW DELHI: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) withdrew a post on X calling for Chief Justice of India Surya Kant’s resignation after it triggered controversy.
The post referred to Justice Surya Kant’s remark that law and order was not his responsibility. “Dear Surya Kant, if law and order does not fall within your purview, resign now. We will find someone who can handle it,” the post read.
Following criticism, the Congress high command asked for the post to be withdrawn. The party attributed the incident to a lapse on the part of those managing its X account.

Meanwhile, the BJP accused the Congress of threatening the Chief Justice of India. BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said the Congress was promoting anarchy and insulting the Constitution and independent constitutional institutions.
In a post on X, Bhandari also alleged that the Congress was threatening the Chief Justice and claimed that the Gandhi-Vadra family considered itself above the Constitution.
