16-year-old girl collapses on road after toddy shop visit in Kochi, case registered

KOCHI: Police registered a case regarding an incident in North Paravur after reports emerged that minors were served toddy. The case has been filed against the licensee and an employee of a toddy shop located near Cheraipadam on the Paravoor-Cherai road

The incident took place last Saturday. Two 16-year-old girls and a boy visited the shop and consumed toddy. Later, while travelling by bus, one of the girls vomited. She subsequently got off the bus in the Munambam area and collapsed by the roadside. Upon being informed, the police rushed the girl to the hospital and subsequently notified her family.

A medical examination revealed that the student's physical distress was caused by excessive consumption of toddy. The North Paravur police registered a case and initiated an investigation based on a complaint filed by the relatives.
