THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram museum’s iconic toy train, which was lying idle for years, is set to start operating within a year. The park will also be renovated. The museum authorities announced that the tender process for this will begin soon, and the project will be completed within a year. The museum attracts a large crowd every day for its Bungalow, galleries, botanical gardens, zoo, and natural history museum. The museum's zoo department operates under the Department of Culture.

The renovation was stalled because the contractor who had previously tendered for the park renovation died, and further steps were caught in legal trouble. The renovation projects were facing delays due to technical issues. Since the park renovation was disrupted, the authorities had set up a temporary park museum nearby for children.

'A new children's park will be set up soon'- Manjula Devi, Director, Museum and Zoo Department
