THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Social media influencer and BJP leader Krishnakumar’s daughter Diya Krishna has responded via Instagram story to the public protests and online criticism directed at her and her family in connection with the CJP march.
Addressing the controversy, Diya stated that she is aware of the reasons behind the current protests and is not opposed to them. "I know the cause of the current protest, and I'm definitely not against it," she wrote, adding that the movement is for a good cause and that the government should take action soon.
However, she criticised the personal attacks aimed at her household, stating, "But calling me and my family spineless just because we don't support insects is cruel. Leave me and my family out of your dirty controversies." She also addressed the digital backlash, noting, "And the ones who are not done unsubscribing and unfollowing me (which is new trending propaganga against me and my family) can be continued."
Alongside her personal statement, Diya shared posts from film personalities expressing support for the student demonstrations. She reposted a statement by actress Aditi Rao Hydari, which read: "Whatever anyone's political preferences may be, humanity must come above all. We must ensure a safe environment built on respect, dignity, and empathy for all our brave students, and for all the determined voices seeking to be heard, with a genuine commitment to constructive dialogue. Listening to one another is the foundation of meaningful progress. Our students are our future."
Diya additionally shared a post regarding the issue by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta.
