Exercise caution for next five days; UAE issues warning to citizens, expatriates

DUBAI: Since United Arab Emirates is home to hundreds of thousands of Malayali expatriates, every development in the country gets the attention of the diaspora. In the latest, reports emerged regarding the change in weather conditions over five days, from Wednesday, October 28, to Sunday, November 1. It is said that the country will witness unexpected weather conditions in the coming days.

The National Centre of Meteorology announced the possibility of strong dust storms and, in some areas, fog over the next five days. Rain is also expected during this period, along with fog in certain locations. Today, the sky will be clear to partly cloudy. Clouds are likely to form in the northern, eastern, and southern regions, with a chance of rain. While winds will generally remain at normal levels, they may occasionally trigger dust storms. Wind speeds could reach up to 50 km/h in mountainous areas and up to 45 km/h in inland regions.

Temperatures may rise to 39°C in inland areas, 37°C in coastal regions and on the islands, and up to 32°C in mountainous areas. Humidity levels will increase—both day and night—in certain coastal and inland parts. On Thursday, cloud formation is expected in the northern and eastern regions, with the possibility of dust storms reaching speeds of up to 50 km/h.

Winds reaching speeds of 35 to 40 km/h, along with the formation of fog, are expected on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; sea conditions in the Arabian Sea and the Sea of ​​Oman will remain calm. The National Centre of Meteorology stated that these weather changes are due to the extension of a surface low-pressure system combined with a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.
