Naked stranger spreads fear in Thamarassery; Police ramp up probe

KOZHIKODE: Fear spread in the locality of Thamarassery after reports emerged of a stranger trespassing in houses in the area during the dark hours of the night. According to locals, the stranger would appear naked with his face covered and ring the bell during the wee hours of the night before running away. The locals are in great concern after the CCTV footage of the incident was released.

At around 4 am on Tuesday, the naked stranger tried to invade houses located near the Thamarassery police station. When they inspected the CCTV footage, the family members found that the ruffian moved to another side of the house after ringing the bell. With this, the family members informed the locals. However, in the meantime, the stranger left the place.

Following the incident, police stepped up surveillance in the area. They have also issued a cautionary note to anyone who hears a ringing bell or unusual noises and to avoid opening the doors at late hours of the night.
