'Shoot NEET protesters,' 'women welcome rape': Kerala RSS leader faces probe

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has ordered a police investigation against RSS leader T.G. Mohandas following complaints over his controversial remarks calling for student protesters demonstrating against NEET exam irregularities in Delhi to be shot dead.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala directed Cyber Cell Inspector General P. Prakash to lead the inquiry. Formal complaints against Mohandas were filed by All India Youth Federation (AIYF) State Secretary T.J. Jismon, Students' Federation of India (SFI) Thiruvananthapuram District Secretary M.A. Nandan, along with the state general secretaries of the Youth Congress and the Youth League.

In a video statement, Mohandas asserted that if given the opportunity, he would have given demonstrators three chances to disperse before opening fire.
"Curfew would be declared within a four-square-kilometer radius of the Jantar Mantar area. People would be asked to disperse three times, then fired upon," Mohandas said in the video. "People would scatter and run. Some would die, some would not die, and some would be maimed. The situation would calm down in about four hours, and the corpses would be picked up and taken to the hospital."

Alongside his comments targeting student protesters, Mohandas also made controversial remarks regarding women, claiming that some women welcome rape. The statements have sparked sharp condemnation and growing protests across the state.
