THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police approached the court to cancel the bail of the accused in attacking enforcement directorate officials. The action comes after the accused filmed themselves celebrating Onam in front of the Museum Police Station. The police had requested the court to cancel the bail of the first accused Nithinraj and the 16th accused I.P. Binu. The application was filed by Special Public Prosecutor Santosh Kumar in the court.

The application states that the accused violated bail conditions, reached parts of police stations, and filmed and circulated a video to convince witnesses about having clout within police officials.

The City Police Commissioner earlier submitted a report to the higher authorities, showing a serious lapse on the part of the police officers. The SHO and other police officers were responsible for letting the accused go immediately after signing the police report. The accused used the swings and chendas and filmed the act. The police did nothing to prevent them from using these, and the report also states so. City Police Commissioner Dr Arul B. Krishna handed over the report to the IG of the Southern Region.

The report also states that a detailed investigation is required to find out whether the accused received help from any officials. The Commissioner submitted the report based on the Special Branch investigation. The Special Branch report also pointed out that serious lapses were committed by the officials of the Museum Station in the incident.
