THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Devaswom Board President P S Prasanth, arrested in the Sabarimala gold theft case, was admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital due to fever.

Prasanth was remanded to Poojappura District Jail. He was shifted to the geriatric ward of the Medical College after suffering a brain haemorrhage. He is currently undergoing treatment.

Prasanth was arrested by the Special Investigation Team after being accused of stealing the gold plating from the Dwarapalaka sculpture in Sabarimala. Prasanth is the 17th accused in the case.

The SIT had also found that the board, headed by P.S. Prasanth, had permitted gold plating to cover up the theft of gold from the Dwarapalaka sculpture in 2019.
