Throughout the FIFA World Cup Tournament, fan wars and allegations were regarding the purported unholy nexus between FIFA and the Argentina team. Even after Spain clinched the World Cup this year, the allegations are showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. To add more spice, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has purportedly liked an Instagram post blaming FIFA for fawning over the Argentina team.
Ronaldo took a dig at a video on the Instagram page of Spanish television show Español Público ahead of the Spain-Argentina final. The video features panellists discussing how Lionel Messi's Argentina have received favourable decisions from referees. The video, produced by Spanish journalist Pilar Rodríguez Los Santos, claims that many decisions against Argentina were ruled out.
In the video, Pilar alleged that 'If it weren't for FIFA's help, Argentina would have been eliminated at least five matches earlier. FIFA is trying its best to help Lionel Messi win the World Cup.' It is said that this video received likes from Ronaldo's official Instagram account. Many people have also shared pictures of Ronaldo liking the video on the X page. However, it seems that the star unliked the post after it became controversial.
