GLASGOW: Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu broke India's three-day gold lack at the Commonwealth Games. Mirabai's achievement proved once again that she is the crowned queen of Indian weightlifting. This time, Chanu won her third consecutive Commonwealth gold.

Mirabai was sure to win gold in the women's 48 kg category on Sunday. It has now been revealed that the 31-year-old Manipuri athlete won her third gold medal without eating anything. Mirabai set a new record in the clean and jerk category at the Commonwealth Games. When the victorious Mirabai stood on the podium, the media came to take pictures, and what is noteworthy is what the athlete said at this time.

'Please do this quickly. I haven't eaten anything for two days,' Mirabai Chanu said. Standing in first place on the podium, the athlete also got emotional when she heard the national anthem. Mirabai says that her mother and coach Vijay Sharma supported her in all her achievements and setbacks. 'I was under a lot of pressure from my family and friends. I am happy to have won my third gold,' she said after the competition.

Mirabai Chanu's performance left her far behind her rivals. Nigeria's Ruth Asuqup Nyong, who came in second, lifted a total of 168 kg, 22 kg behind Mira. Mira won the gold medal after failing in her first attempt.
