Major fire breaks out at coconut oil mill in Beypore; efforts underway to douse fire

KOZHIKODE: A major fire has broken out at a coconut oil mill in Beypore, Kozhikode. The fire was reported at Renuka Oil Mill at around 10 pm on Sunday.

According to preliminary information, the blaze broke out in the section where coconut oil is produced. Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot and are continuing efforts to bring the fire under control.

Major machinery at the mill has been destroyed in the fire. As it was a holiday, no workers were present at the factory when the blaze broke out. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
