CJP’s flash protests in Jantar Mantar; Ashutosh Ranka, Saurav Das jump barricades

NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) staged unexpected protests in Jantar Mantar. The flash protests were led by CJP leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das. The visuals of the activists climbing the iron gate and jumping the police barricades have surfaced. The Delhi Police have taken the protestors into custody.

The CJP had sought permission from Delhi Police to allow them to continue protests at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. CJP co-conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka had informed that the police must respond within 24 hours and that a new protest would be launched if permission was not granted. The demand came after Jantar Mantar was removed from the list of officially designated protest venues.

Cockroaches with the Tiranga sneaked into Jantar Mantar early this morning before they were picked up by Delhi Police.

The organisation had sought permission to hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, which has been used by various organisations for protests for years. The leaders also alleged that tightened security restrictions in the national capital were disrupting public life and business activities. They demanded that a designated venue be provided for protests. Following this, the CJP staged an unexpected protest on Tuesday morning.
