NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi, leader of the opposition in Parliament, alleged that RSS workers disguised as police officers were behind perpetrating crimes on protestors in Delhi. Rahul also questioned the delay taken by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign from his post. In his usual style, Rahul conducted the presser in a PowerPoint style, displaying visuals from the protest site on screen.
Rahul Gandhi:
"Modi and the government are trying to shield Gyanesh Kumar. Seven thousand people who were protesting peacefully have been taken into custody. The longer Gyanesh is shielded, the more intense the protests will become. RSS goons are also showing up alongside the police, disguised in police uniforms; they are attacking women. Delhi was turned into a prison chamber. People are being prevented from entering the city.
A march to the Supreme Court will be held today to file a petition against Gyanesh Kumar. Why is Modi shielding the Chief Election Commissioner? More than fifty per cent of the police force is with us. Even the police are telling us they support us.
These are sleepless nights for Gyanesh Kumar. No one in the country trusts PM Modi. We will march to the Supreme Court today and will wait to see what happens tomorrow."
