
KOZHIKODE: A 16-year-old girl, who went missing from Kozhikode city last month, was rescued by the police from a secret location in Kannur. She was rescued after 36 days. The police rescued her after surrounding the building in Kolavallur, where she was kept. However, the accused, who received a tip-off, escaped from there before the police arrived. The Chevayur police have registered a POCSO case against the seven, who kidnapped the girl, and an investigation has started.
A special team is conducting an extensive investigation to find the accused. The girl has given a statement that they sexually abused her. The girl rescued was produced before the Kozhikode CWC. The girl went missing from the Chevayur station limits on May 15. Based on the complaint filed by her parents, the police registered a case and started an investigation under the leadership of inspector T Mahesh. The police got information that two in a car had kidnapped her.
Based on the phone call received by her relative, the investigation revealed that the girl was taken to Nedumbassery. The police later got information that the girl escaped from the gang and reached Thrissur KSRTC stand. The police then with the help of the cyber police reached there, but could not trace her. Police said the girl was abducted by one, whom she met on Instagram.
