ADGP M R Ajith Kumar seeks more time to submit detailed explanation in rescue operation case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ADGP M R Ajith Kumar has sought more time to submit a detailed explanation in the Alappuzha rescue operation case. The demand was mentioned in the reply given to the DGP yesterday. The ADGP said that he was in Wayanad when the report related to the case was submitted and that the investigating officer was not summoned and met. A copy of his travel details has been attached along with the reply.

The SIT had submitted the further investigation report after providing the clarification sought by the DGP in the case. The report was submitted with more evidence regarding the involvement of Ajith Kumar. The further investigation was conducted under the leadership of SP Shoukathali. The DGP had sought an explanation from Ajith Kumar over the report. However, Ajith Kumar has demanded more time to submit the explanation.

Meantime, the DGP is expected to submit the report of the SIT to the home secretary later today as Ajith Kumar has not given an explanation.
