KOZHIKODE: CPM leader and former minister Muhammad Riyas welcomed any kind of investigation related to the alleged deal between CMRL and Exalogic. Riyas said he has not done anything illegal and expressed confidence in facing the investigation. He was responding to the media on the incident in which the Enforcement Directorate sent a letter to the state police chief demanding that a case be registered against Opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan, former minister Muhammad Riyas and T. Veena under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Riyas said that he would not go into further details on the matter as the investigation is ongoing. He also clarified that they have already clarified their position regarding the political motives behind the investigation. Riyas said that neither he nor the party cadres have any concerns about the topic. The former tourism minister said that the truth will not change despite the desperate attempts to divert the investigation.
Riyas also dragged the ED’s investigation tactics, calling it infamous, and said the whole country knows about it. The former minister also clarified that he will not be discouraged by political campaigns or pressures in the name of investigation.
