Supplyco sets record in Onam sales; turnover touches Rs 391 crore in 33 days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) has recorded a record turnover during the Onam shopping season. Sales crossed Rs 391.75 crore in the past 33 days, according to figures available up to noon on August 24. Sales since August 1 alone stood at Rs 320 crore.

During last year's Onam season, Supplyco recorded a turnover of Rs 385 crore over 35 days, from August 1 to September 4. This year, increased footfall at Onam fairs and Supplyco outlets helped the corporation surpass last year's figure in just 33 days.

The district fairs, including the mega trade fairs held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Ernakulam, recorded sales of Rs 4.65 crore. The mega trade fair in Thiruvananthapuram alone recorded sales of Rs 81 lakh.
