KOYILANDY: Police identified two students as victims in the train hit case near Chemancheri railway station. Relatives identified the bodies as Parthiv (17) of Kozhipparambath, Thiruvangoor —a Plus One student at Thiruvangoor Higher Secondary School—and Avanika (14) of Panamkulamkuni, Vikas Nagar, Kappad—a ninth-grade student.

The bodies, which were found in a scattered state, have been shifted to Kozhikode Medical College. Police said that two were struck by the Mangaluru-Chennai Mail around 6 PM yesterday. Due to the condition of the bodies, identification was not immediately possible. The incident occurred near a railway station where the national highway and the railway tracks run in proximity. Following information provided by locals, the Koyilandy police arrived at the scene and initiated further proceedings.
