'Blood stains on body'; Boyfriend arrested in Shehana's death in Adoor

ADOOR: One person was arrested in the incident of a woman found hanging under mysterious circumstances in Adoor the other day. Shehana (31), a resident of Shinas Manzil at Kottamukal in Adoor, was found dead in her bedroom.

Shehana was married and the mother of a child. She was living separately from her husband. Police arrested Arun, a native of Ezhamkulam, who was present beside her at the time of the incident. Arun has been charged with abetment to suicide. Police had found that Arun had physically harmed Shehana moments before she was found hanging. Arun is a temporary driver at KSEB. The accused, who was produced in court, was remanded.

The incident took place at 7 pm last Monday. Hearing noises coming from Shehana's house, the neighbours informed Adoor Municipality Councillor Nashmal Kavila. When Nashmal arrived, he found Shehana hanging from a shawl on the steps of the staircase inside the house. He then informed the Adoor police. There were blood stains on the youngster’s body. The postmortem revealed that Shehana committed suicide.
