KOCHI: Around 50 people reportedly fell ill after eating Kuzhimandi at a restaurant in Kochi. The incident occurred at Al Rahim Restaurant in Kathrikadavu on July 10. Soon after eating the Kuzhimandi, several customers experienced symptoms of food poisoning and sought treatment at various hospitals.

The Food Safety Department received a formal complaint on Tuesday. Following the complaint, officials carried out an inspection at the restaurant and ordered its closure. The restaurant's license was suspended on Wednesday morning. Officials said food samples have been collected and sent for laboratory testing. Further action will be taken after the test results are received.
